Georgia Girls Coaches Council Selects 16 as US Lacrosse Georgia Chapter All-Americans for 2011

The Girls High School Coaches Council of the Georgia Chapter of US Lacrosse made its All-American selections earlier this month.  Eight girls were selected as 1st Team Chapter All-Americans and eight more were named Honorable Mention Chapter All-Americans.  According to US Lacrosse, an All-American player is one who "exhibits superior skills and techniques as well as possessing exceptional game sense and knowledge of the game of lacrosse. This player should also embody good sportsmanship."

The selections of the Coaches Council were as follows (listed alphabetically):

Celia Bouton – Sr./ Lassiter
Heather Harman – Jr./ Milton
Drew Jackson – So./ Woodward Academy
Jenna Kasmarik – Sr./ Lambert
Amanda Lockwood – Jr./ Milton
Meagan Maguire – Jr./ Northview
Emma Wilson – Sr./ Westminster

HONORABLE MENTION CHAPTER ALL-AMERICANS

In additional to exhibiting superior skills and techniques, exceptional game sense, good sportsmanship and outstanding knowledge of the game of lacrosse, every player being nominated for US Lacrosse Girl's High School All-American Final Nomination must meet all of the criteria listed below to even be considered:

  • Players must be a member of the current season's All-State, All-County, or All-District team OR 1st or 2nd team member of the National Tournament Sub-Regional Team.

  • The Head Coach of the players' team must be a current member of US Lacrosse.

  • Players must have played in 2/3 of their teams' games.

  • Players must be starters or significant contributors.
